AM I LOOKING FOR SHELTER
NETWORKING
I heard the wind, I see the trees, I move around, I walk, I hide in the bushes, I find new paths in this specific garden.
I feel many things here. Am I looking for a shelter? I don't know. I don't think so. I do not want to hide, I want to see everything from a quiet place. I want to find a place to think, that is private but public, that is mine but is ours,
that is close but is open.
And because of that, I want to propose a space that will try to be like this.
I will like to propose a hanging cardboard structure that surrounds a tree.
This structure is open for interaction with wind and light. Is meant to create a relationship with nature. When the wind blows, it will move slowly; you as a visitor can come a move, can stand inside it. Can be a one person space, can be a people space. You can be inside, and others can move it and make you move with it.
Title: Net-working
Performer: Suhwa Kim
Technician: Alejandra Méndez
Duration: 30min
Concept: bodyprints of reaching out
The proposal we want to present is a performance about the space, surrounding one individual.
The space will be constructed by the accumulation of simple gestures.
The space is traces of the body in extention for a specific purpose.
As a performer, one is continuously trying to extend a body in a limited space, you will find that it is a desire of human-being to own one's territory; and an activity to come and go between boundaries at the same time. I expect for the audience to suspect an irony between freedom of the active forces, and the restriction of the space that we cannot choose.
